Oil-free chillers have a higher coefficient of performance (COP), particularly under the part-load conditions. Aging chillers for the following buildings have been replaced by oil free chillers with higher COP to save energy:

- Jockey Club School of Chinese Medicine Building

- Wai Hang Sports Centre

- Shaw Campus
