Welcome message by Chairman of Environmental Health and Safety Committee

Hong Kong Baptist University has been the first tertiary education institution to establish a low-carbon campus since 2009. The University has taken on the social responsibility in outreaching and partnering with a wider community to reduce carbon emissions.

Our determination and efforts have been recognised by the wider community, leading to the winning of several notable environmental awards, including the Silver Award at the 2011 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence - Sectoral Awards (Public Organisations and Utilities).

To go forward, we have been outreaching to a wider community through various service and promotional activities. In particular, the first green voluntary team, BU GreenieS, was established in 2013 to bring positive environmental impact to the wider community.

We believe everyone has the ability and responsibility to cultivate a better environment. Let's work together to pave the roadmap towards a sustainable Hong Kong.
